Welcome back Simon, our new Strategy consultant

We are delighted that Simon Åstrand, a former intern here at Priority, is back at the office full time, applying his competences on various client projects. We sat down with him for a chat about the past, the present and the future. What has he been up to? Why did he choose to come back? And the million-dollar question…. who is the best Padel player at the agency?

You spent a semester here as an intern back in 2021. What have you been up to since then?

After my time here – which I really enjoyed, I wanted to finish my degree in Business and Economics at Stockholm School of Economics. I also spent one semester in California, learning more about the managerial parts of business strategy. Being abroad was good to me and I feel like it gave me a lot of confidence, both in my field and as a person – as cliché as it may sound.

What do you look forward to being back?

I look forward to contributing, growing, and further developing as a consultant. I’ve always felt like a part of the team and that my skillset is valued and appreciated, providing strategic insights that really matters. Apart from that, the atmosphere and the colleagues really appeal to me.

What is the most satisfying thing about your job?

Being able to combine the strategic with the creative. For me, it’s about using my analytical prowess with a creative approach – strategic work presented in an innovative way that is fun to digest.

Tell us about what you are up to on your spare time?

I grew up with sports and I like to stay active. Playing and watching football or doing fun stuff with my friends and family. There are a few competitive souls here at Priority which is a lot of fun. I’m a bit like that myself.

Speaking of being competitive. Who is the best Padel player at the office?

Unfortunately, I must give that one to our CFO Viktor. He does play a lot, but if I had to choose one, I’d say it’s him. It’s always a good time when we play, and the matches are often quite even.
